Sacred Sacrifice

Sacred Sacrifice

-Ginoong Romantikong Umaasa

Underneath the sky where I always stare,

And to God who I always give a prayer:

“God where to find the greatest love of my life?

My time is running out there's no hope and light.”

And then our paths crossed, like a destiny's will,

You gave me something that I needed to feel.

The way you care and listen—it is so real.

The parts of me are being healed... it's surreal.

We strengthen one another like an anchor.

Through storms and calm weathers, our bond grows stronger.

You are my medicine, my steady banker,

and I don't care if I'm gonna wait longer.

Consistent efforts I showed for you, my love.

My heart and mind are at peace like a white dove.

I want to own your burdens and sufferings,

To share all the pain and burdens it brings.

Yet, I guess we can't force people to choose us,

No matter how pure or selfless our love does.

Do I need to tell the longest kept secret?

But the answer's too obvious...that I'll regret.

Still, I need to free my heart and tell you this—

Even it may shatter my heart piece by piece.

For secrets that are buried too deep in chest

Can bring down a man and rob all of it rest.

I love you still but I need to sacrifice,

To set you free, no matter what is the price.

For love is not selfish and it does not bind;

It always seek the truth, even it's unkind.

So if my confession brings our paths to end,

I'll forever cherish the moment, my friend.

You will always be the answer to my plea—

You're the love that awakened the best in me.

And this is the last act of my greatest love...

I am finally letting you go, my dear.

I do not stop caring or no longer feel.

But because true love knows when to truly heal.
